Stories about the things we carry, the choices that define us, and the worlds we cannot see.

What if grief could open a door?

Ethan Dalton, a grief stricken former doctor, discovers he can cross into a supernatural realm known as the Veil and visit his dead mother.

For Ethan, the impossible becomes a refuge. Until every visit begins awakening something inside him. An ancestral spirit is taking hold, and the world Ethan enters to escape his grief may ultimately demand everything from him.

A séance meant to bring closure opens a door instead.

A grieving husband seeks the help of a seasoned medium to contact his late wife. Instead of closure, the séance opens the door to truths neither of them is prepared to confront.

The ₦3,941 proof of concept created during the 2020 lockdown becomes the gateway into a much larger mythology.

With Lagos under lockdown and Bimbo racing toward her transformation, ancient diviners, scholars, friends, siblings, and unlikely survivors become part of a battle spanning generations.

At its center is a terrifying idea: Blood connects families. But blood can also complete a curse.

After his pregnant wife is killed by the ancient deity Arabida, legendary hunter Jekan sets out to accomplish the impossible.

Kill a god and reclaim the soul of his wife. What begins as vengeance becomes a journey through grief, sacrifice, mortality, and the terrible price of refusing to let go.

About Mavryk

Olumense Mavryk Omonjahio in a black tuxedo

The story comes first.

Olumense “Mavryk” Omonjahio is a Nigerian born filmmaker based in California whose storytelling moves between psychological realism, spirituality, mythology, and deeply human drama.

Before anything supernatural enters his stories, there is usually something human already breaking beneath the surface. A grieving son. A desperate father. A wounded lover. A man questioning his morality. A person forced to choose between who they have been and who they must become.

That emotional foundation is central to Olumense’s filmmaking. African cosmology gives his cinema access to enormous worlds of gods, spirits, ancestry, prophecy, and destiny. But spectacle is never the destination. The human being inside the spectacle is. His work spans supernatural thrillers, psychological drama, horror, romance, mythology, fantasy, and comedy, while returning repeatedly to one central fascination: What happens to human beings when life forces them to confront the parts of themselves they would rather avoid?

Writer. Director. Storyteller. This is the work.
